Tripura Withdraws Personnel from Disputed Mizoram Border
Imagine two states, Mizoram and Tripura, having a disagreement about where their border is.
Tripura had sent its police and was building a guest house in a disputed area.
Mizoram wasn't happy and said if Tripura didn't back down, they'd send in their own police, which could cause trouble.
After talking things over, Tripura agreed to pull its police out and stop building the guest house.
This should help calm things down and prevent any problems between the two states.
The discussion between the DGPs of both states made it possible to prevent conflict.
Tripura withdrew State Rifles personnel from Thaidawr Hill.
Construction of a forest rest house has been ceased.
The decisions followed talks between the DGPs of Mizoram and Tripura.
Mizoram warned it would deploy armed police if Tripura continued its deployment.
