Mumbai Police Arrest Five Over Forged Lok Bhavan Ticket Racket
A group of five people in Mumbai used fake letters that looked like they came from the Governor’s home to trick the railway into giving them special tickets.
They pretended to be the Governor’s assistant and signed the letters themselves.
A worker at the Governor’s office noticed the letters were fake and told the police.
The police used phone records and other evidence to catch the five people.
They are now in jail and the police are looking to see if more people were involved.
Five people arrested in Mumbai for forging Lok Bhavan letterheads and signatures to secure emergency quota railway tickets.
The fraud involved fake letters from Central Railway to Lok Bhavan, with forged signatures of Governor’s PA Abhay Singh Deshmukh.
The mastermind, Amrish Thakkar, and four ticket brokers obtained confirmed 3AC tickets on Lokmanya Tilak Terminus–Rajgir Express and Chapra Express.
The case was registered after Lok Bhavan official Vishal Sudhir Shinde reported the forged documents; police used technical surveillance and call detail records to arrest suspects.
Investigation continues to determine if the racket extended to other routes or involved more people.
