Rupee falls 6 paise against US dollar
The Indian rupee became a little weaker against the US dollar on Monday.
It started the day at 96.53 and ended at 96.36, which is 6 paise lower than the previous day.
This happened because there are some problems between the US and Iran, and the price of oil went up.
Some experts think the rupee might keep getting weaker, but the Indian government might help to stop it from falling too much.
The price of oil is important because it affects how strong the rupee is.
The stock market also went down a bit, and some foreign investors sold their shares in India.
The rupee fell 6 paise to close at 96.36 against the US dollar on Monday.
Escalating US-Iran conflict and rising US Treasury yields weighed on the rupee.
The rupee traded in the range of 96.35 to 96.53 during the day.
Analysts expect the rupee to trade with a negative bias due to geopolitical tensions and elevated crude oil prices.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is expected to intervene to support the rupee at lower levels.
