SAD accuses AAP of pushing Punjab towards financial emergency
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab of pushing the state towards a financial emergency.
They claim the AAP government is taking too much debt, which has reached a maximum limit of Rs 4.25 lakh crore and is projected to reach Rs 5 lakh crore by the end of their tenure.
This could lead to a debt to GSDP ratio of more than 50%, making it difficult for the state to pay salaries and other expenses.
The SAD also alleges that the AAP government is misusing funds from institutions like GMADA and the State Disaster Relief fund for advertisements and publicity stunts.
They also mention that social welfare benefits have been halted, and the government is terrorizing trade and industry through raids and forced penalties.
The SAD claims that the previous SAD government had built infrastructure and increased power transmission, unlike the current AAP government.
