India's Military Modernization: Post-Sindoor Procurement Surge
After a military operation, India is spending a lot of money on new military equipment.
They bought things like drone defenses and better gear for soldiers.
They are also buying big systems like electronic warfare networks and a system to manage inventory.
This is part of a plan to quickly fix any problems they found during the operation, while also making the military stronger overall for the future, by buying equipment made in India.
India's Ministry of Defence sanctioned over Rs. 1.2 lakh crore in procurements after Operation Sindoor in 2025.
Emergency contracts were approved to address vulnerabilities, including drone defenses and soldier protection.
Capital acquisitions include an Electronic Warfare network and an Integrated Common Inventory & Mobility Management System.
High-value procurements include loitering missiles, a space-based surveillance network, and air defense systems.
The strategy aims for both immediate capability enhancements and long-term, indigenous force modernization.
