Indian Fuel Prices Stay Steady as Brent Crude Rises

Indian Fuel Prices Stay Steady as Brent Crude Rises

Petrol and diesel prices in the listed Indian cities stayed the same on September 24 and September 25.

Mumbai petrol cost ₹111.21 per litre, while Mumbai diesel cost ₹97.83.

Delhi had petrol at ₹102.12 and diesel at ₹95.20.

Hyderabad had the highest prices among the cities shown.

The government said it does not currently plan to increase fuel prices.

However, the price of Brent crude rose from $102.27 to $105.70 per barrel across the two days.

India imports much of its crude, so global oil prices and the rupee-dollar exchange rate can affect fuel costs.

Taxes, transportation expenses and local demand also make fuel prices different from one city to another.
