India reaps AI gains from agriculture to healthcare: World Bank

The World Bank wrote a big report about artificial intelligence, or AI, which is the name for smart computer programs.

It says India is one of the best test places in the world for AI that is cheap and helpful.

In India, AI helps farmers know the weather, and some saved up to $560 on their farms.

AI also helps doctors by listening to coughs and looking at X-rays to find sick people, catching most of the people who need more tests.

A computer helper for farmers answered almost 3 million questions in just 186 days, speaking in 11 different Indian languages.

The report says fewer than 1 in 10 jobs in developing countries are likely to be taken over by AI.

But AI might still take away some jobs, like people who answer phone calls in call centres.

The World Bank says developing countries should use AI to grow faster but need electricity, internet, and careful rules to stay safe and fair.
