China Recruits Indian Spies via Job Portals
The Indian government has warned that Chinese entities are using job portals like LinkedIn and Naukri.com to recruit Indian spies.
These entities, based in Hong Kong, target experienced candidates in journalism and defence sectors.
They disguise themselves as consulting firms from Singapore, Hong Kong, or residents of other countries to hide their real identity.
The selected candidates are made to write articles on strategic topics like India-China relations, military exercises, and defence procurement.
Payments are made through Indian accounts or overseas transfers, and documents like PAN and Aadhaar cards are collected.
The government has asked all departments and states to be alert and sensitise their employees about this modus operandi.
