NYC Mayor-elect advises immigrants on ICE rights

He said that if immigration agents (ICE) come, people can choose not to talk to them, record what the agents are doing, and not let them into their homes.
He wants to protect the 3 million immigrants living in New York City.
This comes after some strict actions by ICE in Manhattan.
Mamdani wants everyone to know their rights so they can stand up to ICE if needed.
He also said that ICE agents can lie, so people should ask if they are free to go.
Mamdani will become mayor on January 1, 2026.
