Israel Approves 764 West Bank Housing Units
Israel has approved the construction of 764 new homes in three settlements in the West Bank.
This decision was made by the government, led by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who has approved many housing units since he started his job.
The settlements are in areas that Palestinians want for their future state.
Most countries and the United Nations say these settlements are not legal.
Israel says they are important for security and historical reasons.
There have been many attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians recently, with over 264 attacks reported in October alone.
Israel approved 764 housing units in three West Bank settlements.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced the approval, part of 51,370 units approved since late 2022.
