Hamas to Dissolve Gaza Government for Technocratic Committee
Hamas, the group in charge of Gaza, said they will step down once a new group of experts takes over.
This new group is part of a peace plan made by the US.
The peace plan also includes a special board led by Donald Trump to help with security and rebuilding Gaza.
However, it's not clear when this will happen or who will be in the new group.
Israel and the US haven't said if they approve of the new group yet.
Hamas is talking to other groups to finalize who will be in the new committee.
The future of Gaza is still uncertain.
Hamas announced it will dissolve its Gaza government once a Palestinian technocratic committee takes over.
The technocratic committee is part of a US-brokered peace plan, but specifics and approvals are unclear.
The 'Board of Peace,' led by Trump, is supposed to oversee the committee and other aspects of the ceasefire.
Hamas is in talks with Egyptian, Qatari, and Turkish officials to move to the second phase of the peace plan.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu announced Nickolay Mladenov as the board's director-general.
