SWAMIH Fund Completes 61,000 Homes, Plans Second Phase
The government's SWAMIH Fund has helped finish 61,000 half-built homes across India.
This fund, managed by SBI, has used all its money to support 145 housing projects in 30 cities.
It has created homes for over 4 lakh people and generated a lot of money for the government through taxes.
The fund has also helped create jobs and demand for materials like cement and steel.
Now, the government wants to start a second fund to build even more homes.
This new fund will have money from the government, banks, and private investors to help finish more housing projects that are stuck due to legal or financial problems.
SWAMIH Fund has completed 61,000 homes across 110 projects by the end of 2025.
The fund has a portfolio of 145 housing projects across 30 cities.
SWAMIH has unlocked ₹37,400 crore of capital and generated ₹6,900 crore in revenues for the government.
The fund has recorded 55 full exits and 44 partial exits, with ₹3,500 crore repaid to investors.
The government plans to launch SWAMIH Fund-2, a ₹15,000 crore blended finance facility to complete another 1 lakh housing units.
