Indian Coast Guard Rescues Injured Bangladeshi Crew Member at Sea

A Bangladeshi sailor was badly hurt after falling on a ship.

The accident happened aboard the bulk carrier MV AMRIS near the North Andaman Islands.

The Indian Coast Guard received an emergency request for help.

Its ship, Rajdoot, reached the vessel at night despite rough seas.

Rescuers took the injured sailor to Diglipur Harbour.

An Indian Navy aircraft then flew him to Sri Vijaya Puram.

Doctors at GB Pant Hospital were prepared to give him urgent care.

The operation involved cooperation between Indian maritime and naval services.
