Expelled Punjab MLA Ravinder Brahmpura Joins AAP Ahead of Polls

Expelled Punjab MLA Ravinder Brahmpura Joins AAP Ahead of Polls

Ravinder Singh Brahmpura was a former MLA from Khadoor Sahib.

He used to belong to the Shiromani Akali Dal, or SAD.

SAD expelled him on September 15 over alleged anti-party activities.

On September 22, he joined the Aam Aadmi Party, or AAP.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann welcomed him and his supporters.

Brahmpura is the son of late former Akali MP Ranjit Singh Brahmpura.

AAP said the joining would strengthen its support at the local level.

Punjab will hold assembly elections early next year, and several opposition parties want to defeat AAP.
