Ittycheria Returns as MongoDB CEO as Desai Joins Meta

MongoDB and Meta are changing who leads important parts of their businesses.

CJ Desai left his job as MongoDB’s leader to work for Meta.

At Meta, he will build technology that helps businesses use Meta’s artificial intelligence systems.

Mark Zuckerberg recruited him for this new role.

MongoDB brought back Dev Ittycheria as its temporary leader.

Ittycheria had already led MongoDB for 11 years.

During that time, MongoDB grew its cloud service and became a public company.

He says his recent work at Sequoia Capital gave him new ideas about how AI is changing businesses.

Now he plans to use those ideas to help MongoDB and its customers.
