Private Team Hosts Araku Cultural Festival

A private trekking team called 'Treksome' is hosting a cultural festival in the misty hills of Araku Valley on December 6 and 7.

The festival aims to showcase the rich tribal heritage of the region through activities like the Dhimsa dance, bamboo chicken, handicrafts, and coffee workshops.

The event is designed to be inclusive, with a nominal entry fee of ₹299 per day, making it accessible to students, backpackers, and families.

The festival features two days of activities, with Day 1 focusing on adventure and crafts, and Day 2 highlighting culture and culinary traditions.

The organizers emphasize the importance of community participation and connection over commerce.

Highlights include pottery and bamboo craft sessions, a treasure hunt, a flea market, and community campfire dinners.

The festival concludes with a Dhimsa performance, offering visitors a unique and immersive experience in the heart of the Eastern Ghats.
