West Bengal reviews industrial parks amid BHAVYA proposals push

The government of West Bengal is checking all of its old factory and industrial areas.

It wants to know how the land is being used and what is missing there.

It also wants to fix up old industrial parks and write new rules for industry and land.

West Bengal is taking part in a special program called BHAVYA from India's central government.

States send their plans for projects and land through this program.

Some news reports said West Bengal was late in sending its plans.

Tapas Roy, the Minister for Industry, said that is not true.

He said the state told the central government about its plan in a letter on July 24.

The central government gave other states until September, but West Bengal wants to finish by the end of August.
