Municipal Workers Celebrate Rakshabandhan While Union Renews Job Demands

Municipal workers in Rajamahendravaram celebrated Raksha Bandhan together.

Women workers tied special friendship threads called rakhis to their fellow workers.

The event was organised by the AP Municipal Workers Union.

AITUC leader Tatipaka Madhu said Raksha Bandhan represents love and family bonds.

He said celebrations like this can bring workers together despite differences.

He also praised municipal workers for working in rain and heat to protect public health and keep the city clean.

Union secretary Allam Venkateswara Rao raised several requests for workers.

These included secure jobs, regular jobs for eligible temporary workers, fair pay and housing plots.
