Nomination Process Begins for CSMC and PMC Elections

The process for candidates to submit their forms to run in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections has started.

For CSMC, candidates need to buy a form for Rs 100 and an information booklet for another Rs 100.

They can submit these forms at special offices set up by the CSMC.

There are nine returning officers who will handle the forms for 29 different areas.

The offices are open from 11am to 3pm on working days.

Candidates in the open category need to pay a security deposit of Rs 5,000, while women and reserved category candidates pay Rs 2,500.

The last day to submit the forms is December 30.

For PMC, 2,886 nomination forms were sold on the first day through 15 Returning Officer offices established for 41 wards.

The Kasba–Vishrambagwada Returning Officer’s office recorded the highest sale with 300 nomination forms, while the Kondhwa–Yewalewadi office reported the lowest takers, with 51 forms sold.

Despite the sale of forms, no nomination papers were filed by any candidate in any Returning Officer’s office on the first day.
