Tata Group Shares Fall as Chandrasekaran Declines Third-Term Reappointment

There is a very big family of companies in India called Tata.

The leader of the main company, Tata Sons, is N Chandrasekaran.

He decided he will not stay in charge after his time ends in February 2027.

The owners of the company wanted him to stay for five more years, but not all the top bosses agreed on his extension.

Some people were unhappy about money losses at Air India and some other new businesses.

When people heard he was leaving, many Tata company shares went down in value.

Shares are little pieces of a company that people can buy and sell.

Almost all Tata companies lost money that day, and the whole group lost about ₹45,000 crore of value.

One company, TCS, lost almost four percent of its value.

Experts say it is too early to know what happens next, because it depends on who becomes the new leader.
