Govt. Implements Stricter Edible Oil Regulations for Transparency

Govt. Implements Stricter Edible Oil Regulations for Transparency

The government is updating the rules for companies that make edible oil.

These companies now have to register with the government and report how much oil they use, sell, and have stored each month.

They must report this information by the 15th of every month.

The government can check the factories and take oil if they think the companies aren't telling the truth.

This is to help make sure there's enough oil available at fair prices and to prevent problems like hoarding.

Some groups say it might be difficult to get this information from all the small oil businesses.
