Assam Govt Extends Zero-Cost Insurance to Contractual Staff
The government of Assam has a special plan that gives free insurance to its employees.
This means if something bad happens, like an accident, the employee or their family gets money without the employee having to pay for the insurance themselves.
The plan covers many things, like accidents while flying or other types of injuries.
Recently, the government decided to give this same free insurance to people working on contracts and in government-owned companies.
They also gave money to seven families whose loved ones were covered by the insurance and had passed away or were injured.
This shows the government cares about its workers and wants to help them and their families if they face tough times.
Assam government has extended its zero-cost employee insurance scheme to contractual and PSU employees.
Seven families received insurance benefit cheques totaling over Rs 2.75 crore on Wednesday.
The scheme offers comprehensive coverage including personal accident, disability, and life insurance.
Over four lakh government employees are enrolled, with 203 out of 238 claims settled.
