BJP Reshuffle Puts Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand 2027 Polls First
The BJP has chosen a new national team of 65 members.
Twelve of them come from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
These states will hold important Assembly elections in 2027.
The appointments suggest that winning those elections is a major goal for the party.
Some party insiders said several new team members do not have strong enough support among voters.
They particularly questioned the records of some leaders from Uttar Pradesh.
The article also highlights Tirath Singh Rawat and Anil Baluni in connection with Uttarakhand.
BJP leaders said they would work on the ground and follow their assignments.
Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand received 12 representatives in the BJP’s 65-member national team.
The appointments include two vice-presidents, two general secretaries and two secretaries from Uttar Pradesh.
Party insiders questioned whether several appointees have enough public or organisational support to help win the 2027 polls.
The Uttar Pradesh appointments include Rekha Verma, Tariq Mansoor, Smriti Irani, Bhola Singh and Sangeeta Yadav.
Tirath Singh Rawat became a BJP vice-president, while Anil Baluni was named national media coordinator and praised by one insider as broadly acceptable within Uttarakhand BJP factions.
