What Railway PNR Details Reveal Before Your Journey
A PNR is a reference that holds important information about a train booking.
It can show the train, travel date, boarding station and destination.
It also shows whether a ticket is confirmed, under RAC or waitlisted.
The current status is usually more useful than the status shown when the ticket was first booked.
Coach and berth details may appear later after the reservation chart is prepared.
People travelling together should check each passenger’s details separately.
Train timings and platforms can change, so travellers should check live railway information separately.
Reviewing the PNR before leaving can help prevent confusion at the station.
A PNR lets travellers verify the train, route, date, boarding station, destination and travel class.
Booking status shows the original reservation position, while current status reflects the latest update.
Coach and berth details may appear later, particularly after reservation chart preparation.
Each passenger under one booking can have a different status, coach or berth allocation.
Travellers should check live train timings separately and review their PNR before departure.
