Ruma Choudhury’s Paper Works Explore Nature at Emami Art

Ruma Choudhury has made an exhibition about nature and paper.

Her artworks can look like clouds, rain, water or land.

The clouds rise upward instead of stretching across the whole sky.

She watches nature carefully to find interesting shapes.

Rain can even help make marks on some of her artworks.

She creates paper from materials such as plant fibres, cotton and leftover tussar.

The paper may be thick, thin, rough or uneven.

The exhibition shows that paper can be more than a surface for drawing; it can be part of the artwork itself.
