Government Infuses ₹5,000 Crore into SIDBI for MSME Support
The Indian government has decided to give ₹5,000 crore to a bank called SIDBI.
This money will help small and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) get loans more easily and at lower interest rates.
The government will give this money in three parts: ₹3,000 crore in the next year and ₹1,000 crore each in the following two years.
This will help more than 7.5 crore MSMEs and is expected to create about 1.12 crore new jobs.
The money will also make SIDBI stronger so it can give more loans to small businesses.
This is part of the government's plan to make the MSME sector a big part of India's economic growth and create more jobs.
The Indian government has sanctioned a ₹5,000 crore equity infusion into SIDBI to support MSMEs.
The infusion will be implemented in three phases: ₹3,000 crore in FY 2025-26 and ₹1,000 crore each in 2026-27 and 2027-28.
The move aims to improve access to credit for MSMEs and create approximately 1.12 crore new jobs.
The infusion will strengthen SIDBI's financial standing, enabling it to offer loans at lower interest rates.
The MSME sector, which employs millions, is expected to benefit significantly from this decision.
