Pune Woman Dies by Suicide After In-Laws Demand ₹5 Lakh
Vaishnavi Praveen Jarande was a 26-year-old woman living in Pune.
She had married Omkar Ghisare about four months earlier.
Police said her husband and his parents allegedly pressured her to bring ₹5 lakh from her family.
They allegedly wanted the money to buy a car.
Police said this pressure continued for several months.
Vaishnavi died by suicide at her matrimonial home between late September 24 and early September 25.
Her father then filed a complaint with the police.
A case was registered against her husband and in-laws.
Police are examining a suicide note and continuing their investigation.
