JLR Plans Up to 4,000 UK Job Cuts Amid Pressure

JLR Plans Up to 4,000 UK Job Cuts Amid Pressure

Jaguar Land Rover, or JLR, is planning to reduce its workforce in the United Kingdom.

Reports say as many as 4,000 jobs could be affected over the next two years.

The company employs about 34,000 people in the UK.

It also supports many more jobs at businesses that supply it.

JLR’s sales and profits have recently fallen.

A US tax on cars imported from Britain is making it harder for the company to earn money.

JLR was also disrupted by a cyberattack last year.

The company says it wants to simplify its organisation, lower costs and become stronger.

It has offered some salaried and management employees the option to leave voluntarily.
