Rocky Flintoff impresses amid pressure of famous surname
Rocky Flintoff is an 18-year-old cricketer who plays for Lancashire.
His dad is Andrew Flintoff, a very famous England cricket star.
Rocky just scored his very first big hundred in an important senior match.
It happened against Somerset in the One-Day Cup.
Some people think England should pick him for the national team right away.
Other people think he should keep learning at lower levels first.
Rocky's coach says people will expect a lot from him because of his last name.
The coach says Rocky has handled all that pressure really well.
Rocky has had some back problems, so he cannot bowl right now.
Everyone thinks he has a very bright future in cricket.
Rocky Flintoff scored his maiden senior century — a 65-ball hundred against Somerset — in Lancashire's One-Day Cup campaign.
Coach Steven Croft said pressure follows the 18-year-old because of his surname, but he has been 'up to the task so far.'
David 'Bumble' Lloyd urged England to fast-track Flintoff, declaring 'He's got everything. I think he's an international cricketer.'
Flintoff is the England Lions' youngest centurion, having hit 108 against a Cricket Australia XI in January 2025.
He has been unable to bowl since U16 due to bone stress issues in his back and pelvis, and made 22 as Lancashire lost to Durham in the One-Day Cup quarterfinal.
