Hindu College Staff Body Backs Members Amid Show-Cause Dispute
The Hindu College Staff Association is supporting teachers who received show-cause notices.
A show-cause notice asks people to explain their actions before further disciplinary steps are considered.
The association said three of its members were targeted after it raised concerns about college admissions.
It alleged that some departments admitted too many students and that proper procedures may not have been followed.
The principal said Delhi University made the allocations and that she only approved them.
The college Governing Body said Ratan Lal made statements that harmed the college’s reputation.
It also said P K Vijayan used offensive descriptions of other teachers.
The staff association said it would provide legal help and would not accept punitive action.
It also removed the principal and vice-principal from its membership and authorised its leaders to decide what to do next.
The Hindu College Staff Association condemned show-cause notices issued to three members, including president Ratan Lal.
The notices followed HCSA allegations of over-admissions and procedural irregularities in extracurricular and sports-category admissions.
