Steel Officials Stress Increased Production for VSP Survival
The officials from the Ministry of Steel had a meeting with the employees of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
They said that the plant needs to make more steel to stay alive and healthy.
They want the plant to make 19,000 tonnes of hot metal every day.
But recently, the plant has not been making enough steel, and there have been problems with the conveyor belts breaking down a lot.
The officials think that someone might be causing these problems on purpose.
They told the employees to take good care of the equipment and to report any suspicious activity.
After the meeting, the officials and some important people visited the plant to see the problems for themselves.
RINL's survival depends on increased production levels at VSP.
VSP aims to achieve 19,000 tonnes of hot metal production per day with 92.5% capacity utilization.
Production has declined in the current month despite the revival of two blast furnaces.
Frequent conveyor breakdowns have raised concerns, with possible miscreant involvement suspected.
Employees were urged to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to prevent equipment damage.
