Pakistan Calls Failed Iran-US MoU a 'Template of Peace'

Pakistan said a peace agreement between Iran and the United States could still help the two countries make peace later, even though it didn't work.

The agreement had 14 points and was put together with help from Pakistan and Qatar.

It was signed in June and was meant to start talks between Iran and the US.

But it fell apart within just a few days, with both sides saying the other broke the rules.

The two countries are fighting over a very important waterway called the Strait of Hormuz, where many ships travel.

Iran said it closed the strait and blamed the US for opening a new shipping route through it.

The US is putting pressure on Iran by blocking its ports.

Iran's new security chief said the strait would only reopen if the US gives back Iran's frozen money and stops Israel's fighting in Lebanon and Gaza.

Pakistan still thinks the agreement can be a starting point for future talks.
