BAFTA Alters TV Awards Voting: All Members Get a Say
BAFTA, which gives out awards for TV shows, is changing things up.
Now, all 6,000 members will vote for the best international shows.
Before, only a smaller group did.
They want more people involved because TV shows come from all over the world now.
They're also letting teams that make the shows have one person who isn't from the UK, if most of the team is.
The awards will happen in May 2025, but the nominations will be announced in March.
BAFTA is changing voting rules for its International TV category.
All 6,000 BAFTA members will now vote on nominations and winners.
The change aims to strengthen the category and reflect international content.
BAFTA will allow one non-UK-eligible senior team member if 80% of the team is UK-eligible.
The next BAFTA TV Awards will be on May 10, 2025, with crafts awards on April 26, and nominations in March.
