New Found Glory Guitarist Chad Gilbert Dies After Cancer Battle

Chad Gilbert was the founding guitarist of the band New Found Glory.

He died after being sick with cancer for several years.

His family said he passed away peacefully in his sleep.

His wife, mother, friends and other family members were with him.

Doctors had found cancer in his adrenal system and later discovered three brain tumors.

Gilbert had emergency brain surgery earlier this year.

Even while very ill, he returned to perform with his band in Nashville.

He played guitar from a motorized scooter during two songs.

New Found Glory said his music and personality will remain part of the band.
