Ahmedabad to Host 2026 Asian Weightlifting Championships
The Asian Weightlifting Championships, a big weightlifting competition, will be in Ahmedabad, India from April 1st to 10th, 2026.
It's like the Olympics but just for weightlifting!
This will be the first time they use the new weight rules.
The competition was originally going to be in a different city, but now it's in Ahmedabad, which is also hosting another weightlifting event later this year.
The local government is building more sports places there.
Ahmedabad will host the 2026 Asian Weightlifting Championships from April 1 to 10.
The Indian Weightlifting Federation (IWLF) confirmed the dates on Wednesday.
The event will be the first with the International Weightlifting Federation’s revised weight categories.
The event was moved from Gandhinagar to Ahmedabad.
Ahmedabad will also host the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships in August.
