Godavari Floods Subside, Roads Still Blocked
The Godavari River in India has been flooding many villages, but the water is now going down.
Even though the floods are less, roads and electricity are still broken in many places.
About 2,100 people had to leave their homes, and almost 1,000 houses were flooded.
The government is working to bring power back and help people get food and medicine.
Some roads are still underwater, so the authorities are opening other routes for cars and trucks.
Floods in the Godavari River are receding, but road and transport services remain disrupted in 16 mandals of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district.
Water levels at Bhadrachalam dropped to 42.10 feet and at Chinturu to 37.60 feet, with all flood warnings withdrawn in the Chinturu division.
72 villages across Polavaram district were affected; 2,124 residents relocated, 971 houses submerged, and 149 pregnant women moved to health centres.
Electricity restoration: 4,780 of 8,195 services restored; power still missing in many villages.
Movement of vehicles suspended over three‑foot water on key causeways; alternative routes being opened near Mamidikuduru.
