Kerala Businessman Arrested by ED
A businessman named Aneesh Babu from Kerala was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
He was accused of money laundering related to cashew exports.
The ED also mentioned that Aneesh and his family were involved in cheating people out of a lot of money by promising to import cashews at low prices.
Earlier, Aneesh had accused an ED officer of asking for a bribe to settle a money laundering case against him.
The ED says these accusations are false and aimed at damaging their reputation.
The arrested businessman will be presented in court soon.
Aneesh Babu, a Kerala-based businessman, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case linked to cashew exports.
Babu and his parents were previously charged by the Kerala Police for cheating people out of Rs 24.73 crore by promising low-price cashew imports.
Babu had earlier accused an ED officer, Sekhar Kumar, of demanding a Rs 2 crore bribe to settle a money laundering case against him.
The ED has dismissed Babu's allegations as an attempt to tarnish their image, with the accused officer claiming a clean service record.
Babu is expected to be produced before a special PMLA court on Friday.
