SC rejects Prajwal Revanna's plea for rape case transfer
Prajwal Revanna, a former politician, asked the Supreme Court to move his rape case trials to a different court.
He said the judge was biased because he was already convicted in another case by the same judge.
The Supreme Court said that just because the judge convicted him before doesn't mean he is biased.
They also said that the judge's harsh words couldn't be a reason to think he is unfair.
The court told Revanna he could ask the Karnataka High Court to remove those harsh words from the record.
Earlier, the Karnataka High Court had also said no to moving the trials because Revanna was just trying to delay the case.
The Supreme Court declined Prajwal Revanna's plea to transfer his rape case trials to another court.
The court found no bias in the trial judge despite Revanna's previous conviction by the same judge.
The Supreme Court allowed Revanna to approach the Karnataka High Court for expunction of harsh remarks.
The Karnataka High Court had earlier rejected Revanna's transfer plea, stating that harsh remarks do not indicate bias.
Revanna is currently serving a life sentence in another rape case and faces multiple prosecutions for sexual assault and intimidation.
