Activists Allege Encroachment Threatens Beed Hindu Crematorium Site

A Hindu crematorium in Beed is reportedly at risk because people may have occupied parts of its land without permission.

Activists say the local municipal council did not protect or maintain the site.

They asked government officials to check the land records and measure the boundaries.

They also want any unauthorised occupants and structures removed.

The crematorium was built in 2005–06 with local development funds.

A municipal notice in July 2025 said the original crematorium sign had been replaced with temple-related branding.

The notice also objected to a dirt road crossing the premises.

Activists say the sign was restored, but people and vehicles still use the road.
