Shanoo Sharma’s Talent Post Sparks Bollywood Casting Debate
Shanoo Sharma shared a message saying she hoped talent would become more important in Bollywood.
Bhumi Pednekar seemed to agree with her.
Ridhima Pandit and Ridhi Dogra said that talent may not be enough to get acting jobs.
They said visibility, connections, luck and being liked by audiences can also matter.
Anjali Anand recently recalled that Sharma told her they could work together after she lost weight.
Anand’s story brought attention to how actors may be judged by their appearance.
Her comments and Sharma’s post led to a larger discussion online.
The debate is about whether talent or other factors have the biggest effect on getting work.
Casting director Shanoo Sharma wrote on social media, “I hope the next big trend is talent.”
Bhumi Pednekar appeared to support Sharma, while Ridhima Pandit and Ridhi Dogra questioned whether talent determines opportunities.
Pandit said visibility, connections and paparazzi coverage can matter more in Bollywood than talent.
Dogra said actors are encouraged to rely on talent, but luck and public appeal often determine who succeeds.
