Mumbai Bullion Trader Linked to Rs 3,500-Crore AP Liquor Scam
A big investigation is happening in Andhra Pradesh about a huge money scam involving liquor.
A man named Anil Chokhara from Mumbai, who deals in gold and silver, was caught.
He is accused of helping to move a lot of money illegally.
The money was supposed to be from liquor companies, but it was sent to fake companies to hide where it came from.
The police think he might have connections with important people in the government.
They are still looking into how the money was moved and who else was involved.
Mumbai-based bullion operator Anil Chokhara was arrested for his role in the Rs 3,500-crore Andhra Pradesh liquor scam.
Chokhara allegedly created a network of 35 shell companies to funnel Rs 77.55 crore in kickbacks from major distilleries.
The distilleries involved include Adan Distilleries, Leela Distilleries, and SPY Agro Industries, linked to key accused A1 and A7.
Funds were diverted to four Mumbai-based shell firms: Olwick Multiventures, Kripati Enterprises, Nysna Multiventures, and Vishal Enterprises.
