Parliamentary panel urges task force to fill 38 DIPAM vacancies

Parliamentary panel urges task force to fill 38 DIPAM vacancies

Some important people in India's government check that the country's offices have enough workers.

They looked at a special department called DIPAM, which takes care of things the government owns, like buildings and shares in companies.

They found that almost half of the jobs in this department are empty.

That is like a sports team going to a big match with only a few players!

This matters because the department has to make very big and difficult deals, like selling the government's share in IDBI Bank.

The people in charge recommended creating a special group, called a task force, to fill all 38 empty positions quickly.

They also worried that the department has very little money for such a huge job.

Another worry is making sure the government keeps control of important companies it partly owns.

The finance ministry said it does not plan to reduce the government's share for now.

But the committee thinks it is smarter to write clear rules now, so the government can stay in charge even in the future.
