Mumbai Tribunal Awards Driver ₹77.96 Lakh After Vision Loss

Suhas Bhagwan Jagadale worked as a driver.

In October 2022, an SUV hit his vehicle in Kanjur Marg, Mumbai.

He was badly hurt and permanently lost sight in his left eye.

The tribunal said this injury meant he could no longer do his driving job.

It ordered Tata AIG to pay him ₹77.96 lakh, plus interest.

Most of the money was for the income he may lose in the future.

The insurer argued that the SUV driver did not have a valid licence, but the tribunal said it had not supported that claim with evidence.

The order was made on October 1, 2026.
