SEBI Chairman Says Firms Remain Responsible for AI Tools

SEBI Chairman Says Firms Remain Responsible for AI Tools

India’s market regulator said financial companies must take responsibility for the artificial intelligence tools they use.

This applies whether companies build the tools themselves or buy them from another provider.

The regulator is considering an index to measure how well important market systems handle technology problems.

Tuhin Kanta Pandey said technology can help more people invest.

He also said markets must remain safe, fair and trustworthy.

Pandey said mutual funds and regular investment plans have brought more households into market-linked investments.

However, he said there is still room for more people to participate.

His goal is to support market growth without weakening investor protection.
