Patil Claims Delhi Police Fingerprint Protest Stones
A minister from Maharashtra, Chandrakant Patil, said that the police in Delhi are taking fingerprints from the small stones that people threw during a protest.
He said these fingerprints will be matched to Aadhaar numbers, which are like ID cards, to find out who the protesters are.
Patil said the police have a special report that shows who might have a criminal record or foreign connections.
A rival politician, Sanjay Raut, laughed at the claim and said Patil should get a Nobel Prize for it.
The protest was about leaked exam papers and caused fights and stone‑throwing in Delhi.
Maharashtra BJP minister Chandrakant Patil claimed Delhi Police will link fingerprints from protest stones to Aadhaar numbers.
The claim was made during a press conference in Kolhapur on Thursday.
Patil said the police have a detailed report using advanced technology to identify protesters with criminal antecedents and alleged foreign links.
Shiv Sena-UBT leader Sanjay Raut mocked the claim, suggesting Patil be recommended for a Nobel Prize.
The claim concerns the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) agitation in Delhi over examination paper leaks, which saw stone‑petting and clashes.
