Delhi Schools to Close September 11 for BRICS Summit
Schools in Delhi will have a holiday on September 11, 2026.
This is because the city is preparing for the BRICS Summit.
The holiday includes government and recognised private schools.
Offices under the Directorate of Education will also be closed.
The summit will take place in New Delhi on September 12 and 13.
Many roads may have traffic restrictions for security.
Delhi Traffic Police expects these restrictions to make it difficult for people to reach Patiala House Courts.
It has asked that court hearings be held online on September 11.
It has also suggested that September 12 be treated as a court holiday, if approved.
Schools across Delhi will remain closed on September 11, 2026, because of arrangements for the BRICS Summit.
The holiday applies to government, government-aided and unaided recognised private schools, as well as Directorate of Education offices.
The BRICS Summit is scheduled for September 12 and 13 in New Delhi.
Delhi Traffic Police has requested virtual proceedings at Patiala House Courts on September 11 and a possible holiday on September 12.
Traffic restrictions are expected at 22 diversion points across more than 35 roads around the summit venue and nearby areas.
