Driverless Car Prototype Takes Seer for a Joyride at Bengaluru College
Imagine a car that can drive itself, like magic!
A special car like that was being built by smart people at a college in Bengaluru, India.
They even invited a very respected religious leader, called a seer, to take a ride in it.
The seer sat inside, and the car drove around the college campus all by itself, with no one steering!
People saw a video of this and thought it was super cool and shared it a lot.
This car is still being tested, and the people building it are studying Indian roads to make sure it can drive safely everywhere when it's ready.
Other places are also working on self-driving cars, like in the US with Tesla.
A video of a driverless car prototype giving a ride to Sri Satyatmatheertha Swamiji at RV College of Engineering in Bengaluru has gone viral.
The autonomous vehicle is a concept developed as part of the WIRIN programme, a collaboration between Wipro, IISc, and RV College of Engineering.
The project is still under development, with ongoing studies of Indian road conditions for future deployment.
The collaboration focuses on advancing technologies such as AI, robotics, autonomous systems, and machine learning.
Other institutions and companies globally, like IIT Hyderabad and Tesla, are also working on similar driverless vehicle technologies.
