47 Myanmar refugees flee to Mizoram's Champhai district
A group of 47 people from Myanmar, who are part of 11 families, have come to a place called Champhai in Mizoram, India.
They had to leave their homes because there were big fights between the Myanmar army and a group called the Chin National Defence Force.
The fights included air strikes and soldiers going into villages, taking things, and burning houses.
The refugees are now staying in a community hall in a village called Vaphai.
They said many soldiers came from another part of Myanmar to their area.
There are more fights happening in other towns too, and people there might also have to leave if the fighting continues.
The Myanmar army has said there will be elections on December 28, and people in those areas are being pressured to vote.
47 refugees from 11 families of Falam township in Chin state, Myanmar, fled to Saikhumphai hamlet in Champhai district, Mizoram.
The refugees arrived in two batches, with the first group coming on Friday night and the latest on Monday night.
They are currently staying at the Vaphai village community hall after being initially accommodated in a school building.
The displacement was caused by heavy clashes between the Myanmar military and the Chin National Defence Force (CNDF) around Falam town and adjoining villages.
The refugees reported airstrikes carried out with jet fighters and drones, followed by ground offensives where infantry units looted property and set houses ablaze.
