Xbox Limits Cloud Gaming Hours, Sells Additional Playtime
Xbox is changing how much some people can play games over the internet each month.
The change begins in November.
Game Pass Ultimate members will receive 15 cloud gaming hours, while Premium members get 10 and Essential members get five.
Most subscribers currently have unlimited cloud streaming access.
Xbox says about 4% of Game Pass users will be affected, mostly people who play in the cloud frequently.
Players who use all their hours can buy more time, although prices have not been announced.
People without a Game Pass subscription will also be able to buy hours to stream compatible games they already own.
Downloading games to supported hardware will not count against the cloud gaming limits.
Xbox says the limits will help manage rising costs and support service improvements.
