ICAI Introduces Mandatory E-Diary for CA Students
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has introduced a new digital platform called the e-diary for CA students.
Starting from January 2026, all new CA students will have to use this e-diary to record their daily attendance and tasks during their practical training.
The e-diary will help make sure everything is recorded properly and on time.
Students will need to submit their entries every two weeks, and their principals will review and approve them.
This new system will make it easier for both students and principals to keep track of training and ensure everything is done correctly.
It will also help reduce the need for paper records and make the process more efficient.
ICAI introduces a mandatory digital platform called the e-diary for CA students starting practical training from January 2026.
The e-diary records daily attendance and tasks performed by articled trainees in a structured digital format.
Trainees must submit entries fortnightly, with principals reviewing and approving them within a specified timeframe.
The platform integrates with other ICAI processes, such as Form 109, and aligns with existing training guidelines.
The e-diary provides real-time visibility and data-based insights for principals, reducing reliance on manual record-keeping.
